RentHound Privacy Policy

Effective Date: October 1, 2026 | Last Updated: October 2026

Summary of Key Data Principles

  • We do not sell personal data: Your court records and debtor details are never sold to advertisers or third-party marketing brokers.
  • Strict FCRA / GLBA Permitted Purpose: Skip-tracing and asset discovery tools are restricted strictly to verified original judgment creditors or authorized fiduciaries.
  • Bank-Grade Encryption: All uploaded dockets, case documents, and financial metrics are encrypted via AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit.

1. Information We Collect

RentHound ("we," "our," or "us") collects information necessary to automate post-judgment recovery workflows, compute statutory interest, generate administrative court pleadings, and facilitate optional judgment assignment.

A. Account & Contact Information: Name, business or entity name, email address, physical address, telephone number, and payment information processed via Stripe.

B. Judicial & Docket Information: Jurisdiction state, county, court division, civil docket/case numbers, dates of entry, principal awarded, court costs, and post-judgment payments received.

C. Judgment Debtor & Third-Party Information: Defendant full names, last known residential addresses, employers, dates of birth, or partial identifiers provided by the judgment creditor to facilitate legal discovery or garnishment pleadings.

2. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) & GLBA Compliance

RentHound is an administrative document preparation and workflow software platform. RentHound is not a Consumer Reporting Agency ("CRA") as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. ("FCRA").

Information provided via our Skip Tracing and Debtor Discovery features does not constitute a "consumer report" under the FCRA. Users agree not to utilize any data obtained through RentHound for tenant screening, employment screening, credit granting, insurance underwriting, or any purpose governed by FCRA § 604 other than bona fide post-judgment debt enforcement pursuant to a signed Permitted Purpose certification.

3. How We Use and Disclose Information

We use your data solely to:

  • Calculate statutory post-judgment interest and court renewal deadlines according to 50-state civil procedure rules.
  • Compile editable administrative documents (e.g., Wage Garnishments, Bank Levies, Renewal Affidavits, Assignment deeds).
  • Query authenticated skip-tracing data providers on your explicit, authenticated demand.
  • Facilitate anonymous listing and placement of claims on the RentHound Recovery Exchange marketplace when opted in by the creditor.

4. Data Security & Retention

We maintain rigorous technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction of judgment files. Data is retained for as long as your account remains active or as required by applicable statutory recordkeeping rules. Users may request full account and docket deletion at any time by contacting compliance@renthound.ai.
